Peggy Sue Walker, 63, of Coloma, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2015 at Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph.
Peggy was born on July 14, 1952 in Alton, Illinois. She was the only child of Percy and Elba (Worsham) Hickerson. Following high school she attended Andrews University in Berrien Springs. It was there that she met her husband of 38 years, George Walker.
The couple eventually moved to this area and raised their two children, Jessica and Nicholas. Peggy was employed with the Department of Human Services in Benton Harbor for over 20 years, retiring in 2013. Outside of work, she enjoyed reading, gardening, traveling and spending time with her family.
Peggy is survived by her husband George; her daughter Jessica (Jacob) Nunley of Grand Rapids; her son Nicholas Walker of Chicago; and her grandson Walker Nunley. She was preceded in death by her parents.
As per Peggy’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no local services are planned at this time. Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma is assisting the family.
