Sam was born on January 22, in the Dutch community of Roseland, IL to John & Adeline (Mugg) Boersma. She attended Western Michigan University and earned her bachelor’s degree. She continued her education at the University of Louisville earning her Master’s Degree in Art History. Sam was a lover of fine things; she was fascinated with the arts and all things beautiful and thus derived great pleasure from her work. For many years she worked as a manager for Lovell & Whyte, an interior design company. Whenever she had the chance, Sam would always go down to the beach or sail her boat and given the opportunity would’ve loved to have traveled the world. She had an interest for tracking her family ancestry. Sam was a very poised and elegant lady; she will be missed dearly by all.
Sam is survived by her siblings, Maryellyn Woodruff of Sawyer and Russ (Naomi) Boersma of Leawood, KS; niece, Julia Woodruff; nephew, William H. (Caitlin) Woodruff; and many cousins, relatives and friends.
Sam was preceded in death by her parents, John & Adeline.
