Wanda Lee Keltner, 89 of Bridgman passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2016 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph.
A family committal service will take place at Ruggles Cemetery, Baroda. There will be a gathering of family and friends to remember and honor Wanda’s life from 10:30 – 1:00 pm Monday, July 11, 2016 at Lake Township Hall, 3220 Shawnee Rd, Bridgman.
Wanda enjoyed spending time in the sunshine and looked forward to planting a garden each spring. She was active and often walked to the nearby houses of her family and neighbors.
When Wanda wasn’t tending to her garden, she was at home reading. She enjoyed looking through gardening and recipe books and magazines, but most of all, she loved reading the Bible. She cherished telephone chats along with visits from family and friends.
Wanda was born January 28, 1927 in Jonesboro, Arkansas, the daughter of the late (Rufus) and Trudy (Pierce) Saffell. On April 12, 1946 she married Harrison V. Keltner and he preceded her in death on October 5, 1984.
Survivors include a son: Gerald Keltner of Bridgman; a daughter: Linda (Richard) Cockriel of Holt, Missouri: daughter-in-law: Diane Keltner of Bridgman; grandchildren – Angela (Allen) Ales of Bridgman, Jim Keltner of Chandler, Arizona, Kylee Cockriel of Columbus, Missouri, Susan (Hans) Van den Heuvel of Carmel, Indiana, Scott (Elizabeth) Nelson of Baroda, Steve Nelson of San Angelo, Texas; nine great grandchildren; three great, great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Berniece Saffell Jones of Jonesboro, Arkansas, sister-in-law, Phyllis Saffell of Van Buren, Arkansas, brother-in-law Cecil (Shirley) of Independence, Kentucky and many loved nieces and nephews.
Wanda was also preceded in death by her sister Lucille (Eugene) Emmons , brother, Don and a beloved son: James L. Keltner in 2014.
