Wanda M. (Zywert) Wozniak, 88, of Niles, formerly of South Bend, passed away suddenly, of natural causes, on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Lakeland Community Hospital in Niles.

She was born on September 12, 1927 in South Bend to the late Bruno and Bernice (Stawicki) Zywert.

After graduating high school, Wanda married the love of her life, Robert G. Wozniak and the couple celebrated over 56 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2011. The couple enjoyed their time together in Florida for countless winters. Wanda was a pianist and loved music, especially classical. Wanda was a homemaker and caregiver her entire adult life. She raised her two daughters and took care of her father, mother, brother and husband until their last days. Family meant everything to Wanda and time spent with them was that most cherished. She was a devoted, loving, kind, and self-sacrificing wife and mother. Her faith was extremely important to her. She was a lifelong Catholic and member of St. Matthew Cathedral Catholic Church in South Bend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruno and Bernice Zywert, her husband, Robert Gene Wozniak and a brother, George Zywert.

Wanda is survived by her daughters, Christine (Aubrey Hicks, Jr.) of Oxford, Alabama and Anita (Steve) Hosinski of South Bend, five grandchildren; Sarah Hosinski, Megan Hosinski, Amy (BJ) McComb and Collin TenEyck, Jessica (Nathan) Mayberry, two great-granddaughters, Kiersten and Auna McComb as well as two sisters, Evelyn Klosowski of Granger and Esther Michalski of South Bend.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Wanda M. Wozniak will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 1, 2016, at Saint Mark Catholic Church, Niles, by The Rev. Thomas King, C.S.C. of the church, assisted by Brother Dennis Meyers, C.S.C. Committal Rites will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.

Memorial contributions may be made in Wanda’s memory to St. Mark Catholic Church at 3 North 19th Street, Niles, Michigan 49120.
