Andrew John Carmody, 27, of St. Joseph, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.
Funeral services will be held 10 AM, Monday, April 24, 2017 at the Boyd Chapel of Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman with Reverend Jamie Maxim officiating. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday from 2 – 4 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Spring Run Cemetery in Royalton Township. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be given to 1st Assembly for Grace International in Haiti, 06500 Blue Star Highway, South Haven, MI 49090. Drew was born October 24, 1989 in Grand Rapids the son of Kevin Raymond and Mary Lynn (Syswerda) Carmody. On July 30, 2016 Andrew married Julia Danielle La Bounty. He graduated from Grandville High School in 2007 and from Hope College in 2011 where he played baseball. He was an accountant at JohnsonRauhoff Agency since July of 2016; before that as an accountant at Request Foods in Holland since graduating from Hope. He enjoyed golf and loved University of Michigan football. Andrew was a member of Harvest Bible Chapel in St. Joseph.
Survivors include his wife: Julia; his parents: Kevin and Mary Carmody; Julia’s parents: Michael and Wendy La Bounty; brother: Zachary (Nichole) Carmody; brothers-in-law: Phillip (Mary) La Bounty and Jacob (Sarah) La Bounty; sister-in-law: Traci (Tim) Lancaster; grandfather: John Syswerda; grandmother: Minnie Rincon; and eight nieces and nephews.
