Deborah Ann Hardnett Lloyd of Benton Harbor peacefully departed this life on April 15th, 2023.
A devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend was born on October 22nd, 1954, in Ethel, Ark to Lucy Cohen Hardnett and Nolie Hardnett. Deborah was joined in holy matrimony to Michael Lloyd on September 28th, 2011, In Benton Harbor, MI.
Deborah was a woman with a passion for life and an eye for beauty. She had many diverse interests, but her favorites included skating, shopping, decorating, and fashion.
On the rink, Deborah glided with grace and finesse, showing her skills mastered over years of skating with her best friend, who preceded her in death, Cheryl Scates Caston.
Deborah had an intuitive eye for decorating. To know Deborah was to know that she was unique and had her own style. Deborah’s passion for fashion was a defining part of her personality. She had an impeccable sense of style and loved to experiment with different trends and looks. Always looking to find unique ways to express herself.
Deborah recently retired in 2020, From Lakeland Regional Health Systems, in St. Joseph, Mi, where she worked for over 26 years.
Deborah leaves to cherish her memory. 1 daughter, China Marie Hardnett, of Niles Mi. 2 sons, Corvell Hardnett, of South Bend, IN, and Corey Hardnett, of Niles, Mi. 3 sisters, Judy Lynn Spates, her day one, and best friend. Leneise Hardnett, of Georgia, and Joyce Johnson of California. Four brothers, Dennis Hardnett, Ladell Hardnett, Dontray (Sheba) Young, and Nolie (Rose) Hardnett Jr, of Little Rock, AR. 13 Grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. 1 Godson, Quinton Davis, 1 Goddaughter, Genese Austin, and A host of friends, family, colleagues, and loved ones.
Deborah was preceded in death by her parents, Nolie Hardnett and Lucy Cohn Hardnett. her son, Amos Croom III, and granddaughter Chyneice Hardnett, sisters, Bennie Jean Cooper, and Tina Hardnett-Thrower and Brothers, Terrol Wayne Hardnett, Lavell Hardnett, Johnny Hardnett, and Kenny Hardnett.
The family of Deborah Ann Lloyd would like to acknowledge a few very important people. Deborah’s circle of love extended beyond her immediate family. She also had a chosen family. Her godmother, whom she held close to her heart, Emma Jo Hill favorite cousin, Debra Ann Hill. Her lifelong friends with whom she shared special moments and amazing memories, were Phillis Adams, Jeanette Reynolds, and Ann Lloyd. A bonus daughter, Mellissa Turner.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Annie Jackson Hall, Robert Johnson, and Gealey Johnson Dahnkuan.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Robbins Brothers Funeral Home, Benton Harbor.
