Ruth M. Watts, 92, of St. Joseph, died Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at the Woodland Terrace Assisted Living in Bridgman. She was born on February 1, 1930, in Cuxhaven, Germany.

Services celebrating her life will be held at 1 PM on Friday, May 5, 2023 at the Fairplain Chapel of Florin Funeral Service in Benton Township with burial in the columbarium at Riverview Cemetery. Ruth is survived by her sons; John (Tonya) Watts of Florida, Ray Watts of Benton Harbor, and Tim Watts of St. Joseph, her daughters; Diana Watts of St. Joseph and Carol (Richard) Borah of Benton Harbor, her brother Gary Sternberg of Henderson, NV, her 4 grandchildren and her 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Watts, in 2008 and a son, Roy Watts, in 2000.

Ruth was born on February 1, 1930, in Cuxhaven, Germany. After she fled Germany during WWII she met her husband, John, in Shanghai, China and they were married in Benton Harbor on September 17, 1949. They celebrated 58 years of marriage and he preceded her in 2008. Ruth loved (and lived for) the Lord and was a member of the choir and pray team for the Blue Roof Church, of which she was a member. Ruth also loved raising her family and will be greatly missed. She was a kind and loving person who always gave of herself.
