Tabor Cecil Lock, a remarkable son, brother, and friend, passed away on June 1, 2023, due to an automobile accident.

Blessing us in this world on June 20, 2003, in Wichita, Kansas, Tabor was a shining light in the lives of those who knew him. He is survived by his parents, Tyler and Melissa (Rector) Lock of Niles, Michigan, his sister Mazie Lock of Niles, Michigan, his paternal grandparents Dale and Judy Lock of Saginaw, Texas, and his maternal grandfather Charles Rector of Haysville, Kansas. Tabor was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Patricia Rector, and his cousin, Silas Yager.

A 2021 graduate of Edwardsburg High School, Tabor was a dedicated student and athlete. He excelled in both academics and sports, participating in wrestling, baseball, and football throughout his high school years. Tabor’s hard work and commitment to his education led him to the University of Indianapolis (UINDY), where he was a junior in the nursing program at the time of his passing. As a collegiate wrestler, Tabor continued to demonstrate his passion for the sport and his unwavering determination to succeed. Tabor will be remembered fondly for the tender care he provided to his residents at Greenwood Village South in Greenwood, Indiana.

Tabor was known for his tenderhearted nature. He was often described as a bright light by those he touched. Tabor was the protector of younger sister, Mazie, and he always had a smile on his face. He loved all sports and was the best supporter, cheerleader, and coach to all of his friends and family. Tabor emanated the unconditional love of Christ in all that he did.

Through his gentle, kind, and thoughtful spirit Tabor was a young man who touched many lives. His bashful nature only added to his charm, endearing him to those around him. Tabor will be remembered for his caring spirit and the love he shared with his family and friends.\“This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24

Tabor was a gift from God. He made life better for those around him. Let us rejoice in knowing he is with Jesus. Let us rejoice in knowing we will see him again. It is not goodbye, it is see you later.

Tabor’s legacy will live on through the cherished memories he left behind and the impact he had on the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to inspire others to live with kindness, compassion, and love.
