Linda Stroud, 73, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2023, after years of fighting hard against many medical issues.
She was born December 23, 1949, in Benton Harbor MI to the late Clyde and Helen Forshey. In October 1982, Linda married Gary Stroud, of Buchanan, and together they raised their son Jason Stroud.
Linda never met a stranger, making a friend everywhere she went. She spent her entire life caring for those she loved and giving to anyone in need. Many will remember Linda from her days managing at Cornwell’s grocery store and the B & W Olde Village Inn or working as a clerk for the Stroud Family auction business, where she always treated her customers and co-workers like family. Linda enjoyed spending time at the casino playing slot machines. In May of this year, she was able to make one more trip to Four Winds to celebrate Mother’s Day and her husband Gary’s birthday with her husband and son. A day filled with smiles and laughter that will be remembered forever. Linda was such a good-hearted soul that made this world a better place. Her family would like to extend a thank you to those that were by her side during these past few hard years visiting and helping take care of her. You made such a difference, and we cannot thank you enough.
Linda is survived by her husband of over 40 years Gary Stroud of Buchanan, her son Jason Stroud of Buchanan, and her sister Janice Gabriel of Niles.
She is preceded in passing by her parents, Clyde and Helen Forshey of Berrien Springs, her in-laws Bud and Eileen Stroud of Buchanan, and her sister, Denise Adams of Niles.
Cremation Services for Linda have taken place at Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan. A celebration of life will be held for close family and friends at Faith Victory Fellowship in Buchanan on July 1 from 12-3pm to fulfill her wishes. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Humane Society of Southwestern Michigan to help honor her favorite pet dog Lilly who brought her so much joy and happiness.
