Patricia A. “Pat” Mather, 82, of Dowagiac, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at her home in Dowagiac.
Mass of Chistian Burial will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Holy Maternity of Mary Catholic Church, 210 N. Front St. Burial will follow at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Cass County Council on Aging. Those wishing to share a memory of Pat online may do so at www.clarkch.com.
Pat was born August 7, 1941, in Chicago, to Arthur P. & Mary Ann (Thurner) Dobos. She graduated from Dowagiac High School with the class of 1959. On July 18, 1959, she married the love of her life, Bruce Mather. Pat was lifelong member of Holy Maternity of Mary Church, where she was a member of the choir. With a kind heart, and as matriarch of the family, she took care of everyone. Pat worked for the City of Dowagiac over 30 years. After retirement, Pat volunteered at the Borgess Lee Hospital gift shop. In her spare time enjoyed playing bingo and playing cards with her friends and family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Pat is survived by her children, Bruce Mather Jr., Patty Mather, Mike (Paula) Mather and Daniel “Danny” (Patti) Mather; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren; siblings Marge (Fred) Kirsch, Carole Potter, Arthur “Art” (Pat) Dobos and Nancy Johnson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents; husband Bruce Mather; grandson, Adam Mather; and siblings Mary Whitney and Peggy Jerue.
