Christie Sue Ripley, 68, of New Buffalo, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, December 10, 2023.
Christie was born on February 8, 1955 in LaPorte, IN to the late Homer and Kathryn (Kuchel) Bass. On June 2, 1973, she married her loving husband of 50 years, Gary Ripley of New Buffalo.
Christie is survived by her children, Randy (Amber) Ripley of South Bend, and Kim (Joel) Giannetti of New Buffalo; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Ramsey, Grace Ripley, Dawson Ripley, Hunter (Bailey) Giannetti, and Sophia Giannetti; her great-grandchildren, Ashton Giannetti and Krue Giannetti; her siblings, Vicki Bass of Benton Harbor, Mari Bailey (Buddy Allen) of Portage, IN, Tami (Ronald) Webb of New Buffalo, and Alan (Fawn) Bass of Berrien Springs; numerous nieces and nephews; cherished cousins; and special friends.
She loved gardening, bowling, and watching NASCAR. Her greatest joy in life was being Mimi and taking care of her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Kathryn Bass; her grandparents, Willi and Grete Kuchel; her uncle, Gordon Kuchel; and her brother-in-law, Jesse Bailey.
The family will receive guests from 12pm until time of memorial service at 2pm, Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Sommerfeld Chapel, 15 N. Barton St., New Buffalo, Michigan. Interment will be held privately. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
