Susan Lynn Weikel, born on July 21, 1953, in Buchanan, MI, has left us with a legacy of love and generosity that will forever be imprinted in our hearts. Susan was a beacon of unwavering support, an embodiment of kindness and an undeniable source of strength to her beloved family and friends. A devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, and a caring sister, Susan’s life was a testament to her thoughtful nature and selfless spirit.

For Susan, love was not just an emotion but a way of life. On May 14, 1988, she married the love of her life, Perry Weikel, and together they built a beautiful life in Sawyer, MI. In her professional life, Susan was a dedicated cleaner in the residential cleaning business, where her supportive nature shone through as she helped create warm, welcoming spaces for families. She was also a proud and active member of the Church and the American Legion, and found joy in traveling up north, a hobby that allowed her to connect with nature and find peace.

Susan’s love for her family was profound and unconditional. She is survived by her husband, Perry Weikel; sons, Edward III (Roxanne) and Michael (Cara) Roberts. She was a doting grandmother to Nicole Anderson, Amber Anderson, Morgan (Dakota) Roberts, and Connor (Kayla) Roberts, and a proud great-grandmother to Mason, Andrew, Daniel, Sawyer, Cash, and Parker. She is also survived by her siblings, Debbie Marzurik and Norman Freehling, sister-in-law, Elsie Dolan; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Norma Freehling, and her brother Kenny Freehling.

A celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date. As we bid farewell to our beloved Susan, we invite you to celebrate her life by sharing your cherished memories, stories, and photographs on her memorial page. As we honor her legacy, may we find comfort in the love she shared and the lives she touched. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hoven Funeral Home.
