Norman Patrick Ketchum Sr., known as Pat to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2024, at the age of 73, in Niles, Michigan. Born in Buchanan, Michigan, on January 31, 1950, to the late Howard Sr. and Wanda (Forgue) Ketchum, Patrick was a man whose life was defined by his spirited nature, friendly demeanor, and exceptionally handy skills.

Pat grew up surrounded by a large and loving family. He was a cherished brother to Jim, Brian, Robin, Bridget, Cerese, Tracy, and Kristine. He was preceded in death by his siblings Louis, Howard, and Stephanie Ketchum. His legacy is carried on by his beloved children, Stacie Madison, Patrick Ketchum, Jacob Ketchum, Tamarra Cribbs, Paul Cribbs, and Carey Cribbs. Patrick was a doting grandfather to seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His long-time partner, Barb Starr, stood by him as a beacon of companionship throughout the years.

A man of many talents, Patrick had a passion for construction, woodworking, and remodeling. He took great pride in his ability to transform spaces and objects, often leaving a touch of his personality in every project he undertook. His hands were rarely still, as he was always finding something to fix, build, or improve. Patrick also found pleasure in scrapping for extra pocket change, a testament to his resourcefulness and industrious spirit. His love for working with his hands extended to this pastime, where he often shared his friendly banter and infectious laughter with those around him. Pat was also known for being a very stubborn man who wanted things his way, if he ever yelled at you it was because he cared. He touched many lives in his 73 years and will be greatly missed by many.

Pat has been cremated and his family will be remembering him privately.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home, Niles.
