Lyle Nelson Armstrong, 85, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024, in Stevensville, Michigan.
Lyle was born on June 4, 1938 in Frederic, Michigan to the late John R.S. Armstrong and May Cleo (Crawford) Armstrong.
Along with his parents, Lyle was preceded in death by his siblings, John Armstrong, Chuck Armstrong, Ernie Weaver, Robert “Jim” Armstrong, and Gordon Armstrong.
Left to cherish the memory of Lyle are his sisters, Roseanne (Buck) Owens and Nellie Sherman; brother, Arvelle Armstrong; sister-in-law’s, Pat Armstrong and Sharon Armstrong and many nieces and nephews.
Lyle grew up in Frederic where he worked for AuSable woodworking and souvenirs. He delighted in working with the Frederic Fair where he won many prizes for the nieces and nephews. He loved archery and being in the outdoors.
He drove and worked on trucks as a mechanic in his later years. He worked for White Trucking Company in Detroit Michigan.
He loved spending time with family and helping others. He was always there to help.
A Memorial Service for Lyle will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024 at 1:00pm at Community of Christ Church, 1030 Glenn Rd. Grayling, MI 49738. There will be a luncheon following the service.
