Jerry L. Pierson, the loving family patriarch, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2024, in Niles, Michigan. Born on December 27, 1943, in Dowagiac, Michigan, to the late Porter and Minnie (Dudley) Pierson, Jerry’s zest for life and love for his family defined his 80 years.

Jerry was the beloved husband, of 60 years, to Judith (Carey) Pierson, with whom he shared a life full of love. Together, they raised two daughters, Deborah (Tony) Gaideski and Jerri (Dan) Huntman, who will forever cherish his memory. His legacy continues through his six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who brought him immeasurable joy. Though his brother Oliver Pierson predeceased him, he is fondly remembered by his siblings, Porter “Pete” (Charlene) Pierson and Dixie Kiger.

A self-taught jack of all trades, Jerry never shied away from a challenge. His hands were skilled, and his mind was sharp, always ready to tackle the next project or adventure. Motorcycles, water skiing, snowmobiles, and drag racing were not just hobbies but passions that reflected his daring spirit. He also enjoyed the precision and camaraderie of his younger days spent in a bowling league. His knack for working on cars and his ability to fix nearly anything made him a go-to person in times of need. Despite his thrill-seeking hobbies, Jerry was a very private person, preferring the sanctity of his family circle to the limelight.

Above all, Jerry was a good provider, a wonderful husband, and an exceptional father. His unwavering commitment to his family’s well-being and happiness was evident in everything he did. His quiet strength, wisdom, and unconditional love were the bedrock upon which his family stood.

Funeral services to honor and celebrate Jerry’s life will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Niles. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with services beginning at 3:00 p.m.
