Twin City Players Presents The Producers

June 10, 2016 @ 8:00 pm - July 3, 2016 @ 5:00 pm

| $15

The Twin City Players (TCP) announces its final production of the 2015-2016 season, the Tony Award winning musical, The Producers, book by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan, lyrics by Mel Brooks, and directed by Scott Bradford.

In The Producers, a down-on-his-luck Broadway producer and his mild-mannered accountant come up with a scheme to produce the most notorious flop in history thereby bilking their backers (all “little old ladies”) out of millions of dollars. Only one thing goes awry: the show is a smash hit! The antics of Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom as they maneuver their way fecklessly through finding a show (the gloriously offensive “Springtime For Hitler”), hiring a director, raising the money and finally going to prison for their misdeeds is a lesson in broad comic construction. At the core of the insanely funny adventure is a poignant emotional journey of two very different men who become friends. A winner of 12 Tony Awards, The Producers skewers Broadway traditions and takes no prisoners as it proudly proclaims itself an “equal opportunity offender!”

The cast of The Producers includes Marty Golob as Max, Timothy Aranyos, Jr. as Leo, Jim Richards as Roger, Megan Hamel as Ulla, Jordan York as Franz and John Golob as Carmen Ghia. The men’s chorus includes Robert Foster, Jacob Holmes, John Rogers, Jr., Travis Russell and Nathan Salvati. The women’s chorus includes Danielle Babcock, Kiana Bartloff, Juliet Golob, Ellen Higdon, Micah Johnson, Caitlin Sampsell, Laura Simmons, Sarah Simmons and Megan Yacobozzi.

Assisting Bradford are Director Scott Bradford, Music Director Jen Ammerman, Technical Director Marty Golob, Stage Manager Wendy Golob, Student Directors Kayla Boughner, Natalie Smiy and Ariel Higgins, Tech Crew John Golob, Maddie Boughner, Ian Bradford and Joel Smiedendorf, Costumers Julie Smiy and Reta Trux and Pianist Tami Walton, Choreographers Megan Hamel, Natalie Smiy, Juliet Golob and Micah Johnson, and Production Assistant Maureen Bradford.

Performance dates are June 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19, 24, 25 and 26, and July 1, 2 and 3. This production is sponsored by Professional Hearing Services. Technical equipment for this production is sponsored by TPC Technologies, Inc.
