First Congregational Church UCC of St. Joseph is sponsoring a 50s Sock Hop 4 Chimes Fundraiser Dance complete with live band, PastTime (Berrien County’s premier classic rock & roll band), refreshments and free dance lessons 30 minutes prior to the event. The dance location will be transformed into a 50’s dance theme with professional lighting (Derrick Bassett), mid-century decorations and appetizers reminiscent of the sock hops so popular back in the day. Receipts are to benefit the purchase of new handchimes for the three handbell choirs at First Congregational Church. Tickets are limited but can be purchased in advance (269-983-5519) or at the door. $25/single, $40/couple. The event is to take place on Saturday, June 11 at First Congregational Church (2001 Niles Avenue, St. Joseph) with free dance lessons at 6:30 pm by Dana Riley of Sunset Coast Ballroom Dance. PastTime will play from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Refreshments can be enjoyed both indoors and outdoors. Plan to dance the night away on the 24 x 24 foot square dance floor or just come to listen and watch.
