Constance L. Calloway, 60, of Coloma passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville, MI.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M., Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Second Baptist Church, 600 Donald Adkins Dr. Benton Harbor, MI with Rev. Kenneth Gavin officiating. Burial will take place at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 1, 2016 at United Memorial Gardens in Plymouth, MI. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph, MI. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Marie Yeager Cancer Center. Constance was born on November 6, 1955 in Ann Arbor, MI to Ernest S. & Dorothy M. (Dozier) Milligan Sr. She was a graduate of Ypsilanti High School class of 1973. On November 1, 1980 she married Anthony Calloway in Ypsilanti. Constance worked at Coloma Community Schools and Benton Harbor Area Schools, recently retiring in March of 2015 as the human resources specialist for Benton Harbor Area Schools. She was an active member of Second Baptist Church where she served many auxiliaries, which include the Inspirational Choir, Church Trustee and was an integral part of the Vacation Bible School program for many years. Constance was known throughout the Coloma and Benton Harbor for her brownies and coconut sheet cake. She was a proud new Nana of Jackson and loved spending time with her grandson and her family and friends.
Constance is survived by her loving husband of 35 years Anthony “Tony” Calloway of Coloma; son Brian (Stephanie) Calloway of Mason, MI ; daughter Dana Calloway of Kalamazoo; grandson Jackson Calloway; brothers Ernest (Nancy) Milligan Jr. of Ann Arbor, Anthony Milligan of Claremont, CA, Errol Milligan of Madison Heights, MI; sisters Edwina Milligan of Livonia, MI, Brenda (Terry) Gillyard of Ann Arbor and Ramona Milligan of Canton, MI; mother-in law Marietta VanDiver and father-in-law Clifford Callaway of Detroit; special adopted mother Dorothy Hudson of Benton Harbor; and numerous other special family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
