The annual Lory’s Place Run, Walk, and Rock, presented by The McLoughlin Family Foundation, will be held along the beautiful sandy beaches of St. Joseph and Benton Harbor, Michigan on Saturday, May 20th, 2017. Chaired for the 13th year by Christine Borah, this family event includes the 5K Run and Walk races, the Restful Rocking Chair Rock, the Champions for Children Challenge, and new this year, the Friends and Neighbors Challenge.
All events begin and end at Lory’s Place. The course will take runners and walkers through the Edgewater Development. Come and race beside sailboats in the marina, along the river, past Lake Michigan and its sandy beaches, down the historical brick streets of Ridgeway, and into parts of St. Joseph’s newest developments.
NEW this year…Friends and Neighbors Challenge – Gather your colleagues, neighbors, family, friends, running or walking group! The group with the largest number of entrants registered under its name will receive a certificate for bragging rights during the post-race awards ceremony. (Sorry, no group discounts, but the earlier you register, the less you pay!) Be sure to tell us your creative group name on the registration form.
Champions for Children Challenge – Students, teachers, staff and administrators are invited to represent their school in either the 5K walk or run! The school that has the most participants will be presented the “Champions for Children” traveling trophy and $500.00 from Honor Credit Union and a pizza party for the participants provided by Pizza Hut.
