Kevin Marcel McGee

Kevin Marcel McGee was born on June 26, 1971, at Memorial Hospital in St. Joseph, MI to the union of Willie and Ida Marie Holton McGee.

He attended Benton Harbor Elementary School and graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1989. He attended Western Michigan University and graduated from Kalamazoo Valley Community College Police Academy in 1996. Kevin then joined the Benton Harbor Police Department, in August of 1996 until he took ill in May of 2008, serving the department for 12yrs lastly ranked as a Sergeant.

Kevin accepted Christ and was baptized at the Blue Roof Church in St. Joseph, MI in 2010 alongside his wife and daughters. Kevin was kind and funny and had a wonderful spirit, He thoroughly enjoyed movies, especially with his daughter DeLeah. The two would watch every Marvel movie that was ever made over a dozen times together. He also loves watching sports and playing basketball back in the day with his brother and friends.

Kevin passed away peacefully at home in Orange County, Texas.

Kevin leaves his memories in the hearts of his wife Dayneal  McGee of St. Joseph, MI his mother Ida Marie Holton-McGee of Benton Harbor, MI, daughters DeLicia Anderson, DeLyssa Anderson, and DeLeah Anderson, of St. Joseph, MI, one sister Janee (Jane) Holton, of Minnesota, One brother Keith (Stephanie) McGee, of Grovetown GA, One nephew Jamal Holton, and One Niece Jasmine Holton of Minnesota, three uncles TH (Joann) Holton, Harold Holton, and Jimmy Holton all of Benton Harbor, MI. One aunt Jean Holton of Wisconsin. God parents Pete and Bertha Jackson of Benton Harbor, MI Godmother Verna Dean Adams of Benton Harbor, MI God siblings Nedra Adams, Willis (Angela) Adams Jr, Kenya (Rev. Thomas) Fields, and Marvin (Kennethia) Hoyle. A host of cousins and friends.

Kevin was preceded in death by his son Marcel Lee McGee, granddaughter Payton Ervin, Father Willie F McGee his maternal grandparents Clemmie and Vonnie Lee (Towner) Holton, and paternal grandparents. Five deceased maternal uncles and one maternal aunt.

Kevin continued to be a light in many of our lives and will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Robbins Brothers Funeral Home, Benton Harbor.
