Victoria Sue Graybosch, a loving mother, sister, and friend, passed away on May 18, 2023, in her hometown of Niles, Michigan. Born on September 24, 1951, in Niles, Vickie’s loving spirit and generous heart will be dearly missed by those who knew her.
Victoria was a proud graduate of Buchanan High School, class of 1969. She carried her love for learning and creativity throughout her life, making a lasting impact on the lives of those around her. Vickie was known for her kind, funny, and intelligent nature, qualities that shone through in her personal and professional endeavors.
A talented and accomplished musician, Victoria’s passion for music was evident in her mastery of the saxophone, piano, and french horn. Victoria’s love for music was only matched by her love for the written word. As an author, she published several books under the pen name of The Shallow End Gals, captivating readers with her wit and engaging storytelling.
In addition to her musical and literary talents, Victoria was an accomplished artist who sold several paintings throughout her life. Her artwork reflected her vibrant personality and unique perspective, leaving a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to view her creations. Victoria’s creativity and passion for the arts will be remembered and cherished by her family and friends.
Victoria’s generosity knew no bounds, as giving to others brought her immense happiness. Her selflessness and willingness to help those in need left a lasting impact on the lives of many. Victoria’s kindness and warmth will be remembered fondly by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Victoria is survived by her loving daughter, Kimberly (Michael Wologo) Phelps Troutman of Chesterton, Indiana; her dear sister, Linda Schau of Mishawaka; two nephews, Gabriel (Hope) Walker, Christian (Kelly) Schau; a great-nephew, Roman; along with a host of extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her ex-husband Steven Phelps, along with her close friend, Mary Hale
Their lives were enriched by Victoria’s love, guidance, and unwavering support. The memories and lessons she shared with them will be cherished forever.
In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place at the family will have a Celebration of Life at a later date.
