Penny Jo Hull, a beacon of love and creativity, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2023, in Auburn, Michigan. Born on November 1, 1957, in Saginaw, Michigan, Penny’s life was a tapestry of cherished moments and enduring relationships.
Her creativity was not just a hobby; it was an integral part of who she was. Penny loved to craft, a skill she honed over the years, creating beautiful pieces that reflected her warm spirit.
She married, Gary Hull, who preceded her in death. Penny was a devoted mother to Clinton (Sonny) Clark, Brent (Sara) Clark, and Dawn (Jim) Allen. Her role as a grandmother to Hunter Carson, Gabe Mulholland, Jakx Clark, Maverick Clark, Gavin Allen, and Madison Allen was more of a calling than a title. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Penny’s siblings, Becky (Mike) Clark, Tony Spindler, Ryan (Lisa) Clark, Shari Clark, survive her and she is preceded by her brother, Tim Clark. She was a daughter to the late Robert “Bob” Spindler and Barbara Clark, whose values and love shaped the remarkable woman Penny became.
A woman of many interests, Penny reveled in the simple pleasures of life. She loved shopping, getting her nails done, and looked forward to her hair appointments with Kami, which were as much about the conversation as the hairstyle. Penny’s yearly cousins’ trip was a highlight, a tradition that brought laughter and new memories year after year.
As a family, they shared countless moments on family trips and during holidays, each one imprinted with Penny’s loving touch. She believed in the power of family and the joy it brought to her life. It is no surprise that the words that best describe Penny are “loving” and “creative,” for she embodied these qualities in everything she did.
In the words of Mother Teresa, “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.” Penny lived by this philosophy, touching lives with her kindness and leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those she met.
Penny’s legacy is one of love, creativity, and family. It is a legacy that will continue to live on in the stories shared, the crafts created in her memory, and the love that binds her family together. Her life was a testament to the joy that comes from giving oneself to others, and she will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
