Raymond E. Burns, 64 of Watervliet passed away on January 17 at his home surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 22 at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma with burial following in Fish Cemetery in Covert. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Memorial donations in Ray’s memory may be made to New Hope Community Church. Ray was born September 9, 1959 in Paw Paw to Leonard and Mary (Lang) Burns. He owned his own tree company, Rays Tree Service, for over 25 years and truly enjoyed working. Ray also enjoyed being outside working on his equipment, he was always there to help someone in need and loved playing with his granddaughter.
Ray is survived by his children Cheri Burns of Watervliet, Robert (Susan) Cheek of Coloma and Dossie (Melody) Cheek of Lawrence; his siblings Robert (Loretta) Burns of Paw Paw, Nellie Cheek of Battle Creek, Alice Cook of Hartford, Kenneth (Diane) Allerman of Covert, Monica Searles of Houghton Lake and Betty (Wayne) Wells of Kokomo, Ind.; and grandchildren Kyle, Samantha, Kailee, Sunny, Kiya, Bram, Isabella and Amber.
In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his wife Sharron in 2021; son Jesse Burns and siblings Albert Burns, Mary Clayton, Sally Clayton, Karen Pasley, Robert Allerman, Ronald Burns and Robin Burns.
