Leah Beth Froehlich, 73, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2024 at her home in Decatur. She was born June 14, 1950 in Lawrence, MI to Harl and Catherine (Lohroff) Luth.
Leah was a para-professional for Decatur Public Schools for many years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed staying busy, which showed through her craftiness. Macrame, crochet, needlepoint, quilt work, she could do it all. She also learned how to make her own jewelry and collected antique pottery. Not one to sit about, she traveled often with her sister, Laura, and brother-in-law, Lance, taking in the experiences together on numerous trips. You could often find Leah working through a crossword, word search or sudoku, but there was nothing she enjoyed more than a good book…unless it was spending time with her grandchildren. Leah’s grandchildren were her pride and joy, and her favorite thing to do was to spend time with them and her family.
Leah will be missed by her children, Michelle (Larry) Meyer, and Todd Froehlich; her grandchildren, Jeremy and Hailey Froehlich, and Taylor and Logan Meyer; her sister, Laura (Lance) Novak; and her nieces and nephews, Tanya (Brian) Dodson, David (Kelli) Novak, and Brian (Stephanie) Novak, Misty Luth-Jones, and Kristy Luth-Price.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Lynn Luth; her nephew, Lucas Luth; and her parents.
A celebration of Leah’s life will be held at a later date. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in her name may do so to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, www.lls.org, in memory of her brother, Lynn; or to the Lucas Luth Scholarship Fund in memory of her nephew.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Newell Chapel, Decatur.
