Robert “Bob” D. Dennison, 87, of St. Joseph passed away Tuesday February 6, 2018 at his home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 12, 2018 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph with Pastor Corey Kugle officiating. Friends may visit from 1:00 PM until the time of service Monday at the funeral home. Bob will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The Chapel. Bob was born on April 7, 1930 in Cutler, IL to Wilburn & Gladys (King) Dennison. He proudly served his Country in the United States Army until he was honorably discharged. On December 15, 1951 he married Nina Martin in Hartford. Bob was the owner of Dennison Roofing and Home Improvement for 30 years. He was a member of The Chapel in St. Joseph. Bob and his wife Nina were elected Michigan Republican delegates for President Reagan in 1980 and 1984 and attended President Reagan’s Inaugural Ball. He was the President of the North Lincoln Elementary School Parent Teachers Organization, Co-founder of the St. Joseph Football Boosters and the Co-founder of the Eaton Park North Lincoln Boys Baseball Association. Bob was an instrumental leader in having the lights installed at Eaton Park for evening games.
He is survived by his children, Pamela (Jeffery) Dawson of Scituate, MA, Steven (Sally) Dennison of Portage, Scott (Amy) Dennison of St. Joseph, and Brenda (William) Hobbs of St. Joseph; twelve grandchildren including caregiver Ashley (Todd) Muday; twelve great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 64 years, Nina on December 1, 2016, grandsons William Rae Hobbs III and Clayton Robert Dawson and 10 siblings.
