This inspiring flute and guitar concert of today’s classical music revisits music history but doesn’t rewrite it! Featuring the all-time favorites of our audiences, including Appalachian folk tunes, an Irish air and reel, homage to Jethro Tull, Native American motifs, and a reimagined Schubert, Silvert and Bowman prove once again that if you think you DON’T LIKE classical music, you haven’t heard Duo Sequenza!
Valparaiso’s own internationally acclaimed chamber ensemble enjoys enthusiastic ovations and praise from audiences, composers, and critics. Debra Silvert, hailed as “a gem of a flutist,” and Paul Bowman, “among the best guitarists in the world,” have premiered American new music throughout the U.S., Asia, and Europe. Active in commissioning new works, and on the Artist Roster of PARMA Recordings, their album of world premiere recordings will release on the Navona Records label in January 2019.
Meet and greet the artists at the cash bar at 7 pm. Tickets at www.memorialoperahouse.com/concerts
