A SPECIAL NIGHT AT THE BOX FACTORY FOR THE ARTS WITH WONDERFUL LOCAL MUSICIANS.
All are talented musicians and singers in their own right, and they are joining together on stage for one special night of music. There will be wonderful harmonies of folk, American traditional and pop tunes, plenty of familiar tunes and singalongs, as well as great new songs. Instrumental accompaniment will include guitars, banjos, fiddles, concertina, harmonica, and djembe drum. This will be an engaging and unforgettable experience.
Men of Riversong Music Society
Ron Van Lente is a Michigan singer who has been performing for over 50 years. Playing guitar, harmonica and singing harmony have given him the opportunity to play a wide variety of musical styles from bluegrass to blues. Currently Ron has joined forces with David Veenstra as “In Harmony” a local duo offering original music and covers of popular songs from the past five decades.
David Veenstra has performed in several bands over the years, including Invisible Ink in the 80s, an original new wave band that played at venues around the Midwest and released an album that received national airplay. In 2016 David and Ron Van Lente formed the duo “In Harmony”. They perform at venues around the area.
Joe Foster is a folk singer / song stylist known for his pleasant voice, sense of humor, and wonderful renditions of the 40s to 70s folk tunes from a variety of our classic folk artists. Joe has performed for the past 30+ years at various venues throughout the Midwest, and always leaves his audiences with a few smiles, some good laughs, and humming some of the memorable folk songs of the last 50 years.
Thom Brown is an accomplished singer and guitarist who has played at a variety of venues in Southwest Michigan and hosts a regular Open Mic in Sister Lakes. Thom performs a wide variety of folk and popular songs, as well as his original songs. He is an engaging performer with a wide-ranging repertoire.
Larry Feldman performs a variety of traditional and contemporary folk songs, usually together with his wife Sandy. Larry and Sandy have performed at many Riversong Music Society events and they are the founders and coordinators of the All God’s Children Community Choir.
