SWMI RACERS and Ella’s Soapbox present the 2nd Annual Ella’s Rainbow Walk to Remember on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at 4:00 pm.
October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. Nearly one in four pregnancies results in loss. It is often a lonely grief, and pain is overlooked or treated insensitively by those who do not comprehend that a person, a child, a loved one, has been lost. Women and families often grieve alone and in silence.
In December 2015, Ella Marie lived 3-1/2 incredible days with her twin brother Lennox and their family. The Inaugural Ella’s Rainbow Walk to Remember raised $1000 each for Share Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support and Duke University’s Neural Tube Defect study. Over 100 people walked in memory of a baby and in support of each other.
Proceeds will benefit Duke University NTD Research Fund and Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep Remembrance Photography.
FEES:
15 & Over : $20 through September 30
$25 October 1 through Race Day
Ages 7 – 14: $15 through Race Day
Ages 6 & Under are FREE (No shirt)
Paid registrations include a short sleeve event t-shirt. Adult sizes are the Gildan Softstyle SemiFitted style in a soft 100% Ringspun Cotton preshrunk jersey knit.
REMEMBRANCE WALL
To honor babies that have died due to pregnancy loss and infant death, a memorial wall will be displayed at the event. Submissions of names should be made by Sunday, October 7 to be included on the wall. Please email racers@swmiracers.org and include Ella’s Rainbow Walk Remembrance Wall in the Subject Line. Include your contact information. As you remember your loved one, feel free to share your name or family name if you would like to include it on the wall.
