Be Healthy Berrien, Berrien County Health Department, and Southwest Michigan Planning Commission invite the community to see the planning progress on a new proposed walking/biking trail between Niles and Berrien Springs. The Community Open House event will be held on Wednesday September 25 from 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm at the Berrien Springs Community Library 215 W. Union Street, Berrien Springs, MI. All are welcome to come view the proposed trail route between Niles and Berrien Springs and add your ideas to the trail vision. You’ll have the opportunity to discuss design options and to ask questions of the project team. Stop by anytime during the event and enjoy refreshments and activities. Presentations will be held at 4:45 and 5:30. Those in need of transportation assistance can email BeHealthyBerrien@gmail.com or call 269-982-4063.
The proposed trail between Niles and Berrien Springs would be an extension of the existing Indiana-Michigan River Valley Trail that currently routes from Plym Park in the City of Niles to Mishawaka, Indiana. The proposed 9-mile extension would bring the total trail mileage to just over 40 miles.
