The Experimental Aircraft Association’s immaculately restored Ford Tri-Motor aircraft is offering rides from the Niles airport Memorial Day weekend Thursday May 23 from 2-5 pm and Friday-Sunday May 24-26 from 9am-5 pm. No.146 of 199 built by Ford Motor Company between 1927 & 1931, this 1929 aircraft is a pristine example of early aviation luxury mass transportation. Seating nine with leather seats, inlaid wood paneling and Art Deco lighting, the Ford has been restored to its appearance when owned in the 1930s by Eastern Airways, the precursor to Eastern Airlines.
