Register today for the 39th annual Niles-Buchanan YMCA Thanksgiving Day Run!
We are excited to offer in-person/live and virtual options for this year’s race. In an effort to promote physical distancing and for the health and safety of our participants and volunteers, this year’s in-person event has limited space available.
Live Event
Where: Niles-Buchanan YMCA (905 N. Front Street, Niles, MI, 49120)
When: Thursday, November 26, 2020
We have broken down the event into five heats with an open or rolling start.
• 10K Run – 7:30 AM (250 participant limit)
• 5K Run/Walk – 8:00 AM (250 participant limit)
• 5K Run/Walk – 8:30 AM (250 participant limit)
• 5K Run/Walk – 9:00 AM (250 participant limit)
• 5K Run/Walk – 9:30 AM (250 participant limit)
• 1 Mile Fun Run – 7:30-9:30 AM (250 participant limit)
The 1 Mile Fun Run is an untimed, open event. Arrive at your leisure during the time listed above.
The start line opens at 7:30 AM and closes at 9:45 AM. The finish line will remain open until 11:00 AM.
In thinking about your plan for arrival and starting your race, please allow ample extra time for detours as main roads in Niles will be blocked off for the safety of our participants.
Face masks will be required when arriving at the Y. You may remove them once you begin your race. It is your responsibility to bring your own face mask.
Virtual Event
With a virtual race, you can run the distance anywhere, for example in your neighborhood, on a treadmill, or at a nearby park! You will have between Thursday, November 26, 2020, and Saturday, December 6, 2020, to complete your race and upload your time into Run Signup. Virtual runners will still receive this year’s race shirt!

Proceeds from the Thanksgiving Day Run support the Y’s Annual Campaign which supports youth programming as well as financial support to families through membership scholarships.

2019 Description
Register today for the 39th annual Niles-Buchanan YMCA Thanksgiving Day Run!
Since its inception in 1981, this race has become a tradition in the Michiana community, bringing people together in the spirit of community and giving. Last year, over 2,300 people from 32 states participated in the 10k Run, 5k Run/Walk, or the Kids 1 Mile Fun Run.
