Plant More Trees

April 28, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

The public is invited to The Buchanan Garden Club’s annual Arbor Day celebration on

Thursday, April 28th at 10 a.m. at Buchanan Middle School.  The change of site this year is to

facilitate the planting of two choke cherry trees on the grounds of the Middle School.

As in past years, there will be music and guest speakers to help celebrate Buchanan’s many trees.

Guests will include students from Buchanan Middle School and  Pastor Poznik who will lead

the blessing of the city’s trees, including the ones to be planted this year.  Arbor Day

comments will be made by guest speaker, Corbin Detgen. Madeline Hemphill, 2016 Miss

Buchanan, will also be in attendance, as well an ensemble from the Buchanan Community

Schools’ Music Department led by Mark Hollandsworth.

The Buchanan Garden Club, which is open to the public, is made up of 40 men and women who

meet monthly to learn more about gardening  and horticulture in the Midwest.  The club members

tend the Gazebo Garden and the Buchanan Welcome Sign Garden at Red Bud Trail and Front St.,
