The Twin City Players (TCP) will present three special performances of its 2017 Michigan AACTFest competition piece, Make it Home by Larry Nielsen and directed by Scott Bradford, next month to help raise money for the endeavor.
Make it Home was originally produced for Lest We Forget and shares the real-life stories of men and women who lived through World War II. The stories featured in the production are enhanced with the projection of war-time photos, sound effects and music.
The second stage performances will help raise money for the group’s entry into the Michigan AACTFest, a bi-annual play contest for non-professional theater groups. The performances will mirror the cast and crew’s competition piece, with the audience viewing the group assemble the set in under a 10 minutes, perform the production in under 60 minutes and break down the set in under 10 minutes.
After each of the performances, patrons are also invited to enjoy complimentary drinks and snacks. The cast, crew and playwright will also be available for questions during this time.
The cast of Make it Home includes Lisa Cripps-Downey, Zoe Downey, John Taylor, Mike Thursby, Jim Richards and Bill Downey.
In addition to Bradford, the production crew also includes Playwright and Content Adviser Larry Nielsen, Technical Director Marty Golob and Costumer Julie Smiy.
Individuals and groups wishing to sponsor the Twin City Players entry into the Michigan AACTFest may email Bradford at sabradford@aaamichigan.com, or by calling 269-876-6273. The Michigan State competition will be held February 9-12 in Bay City, MI. That winner will then advance to the regional and national levels.
Performance dates are February 3, 4 and 5, 2017. Technical equipment for this production is sponsored by TPC Technologies, Inc. Presented by permission of the playwright, Larry Nielsen.
